LAVENDER AND GARDENIAS
I always enjoy the scent of lavender, which is so soothing and calming. The stresses of living in the twenty-first century can be lessened with the aroma of lavender. That’s why I try to buy lavender-scented candles whenever I can find them. Also, because gardenias are my favorite flower, I look for gardenia-scented ones when purchasing candles. I have no place to plant a gardenia bush, so the scent can permeate my house without having a real one. The ambient light given off by candles makes their surroundings look so soft and ethereal. One imagines a pair of eighteenth century lovers staring at each other in the candlelight on a romantic evening. They can see loveliness in each other’s faces by this light, where there might be no real beauty. In my home, every dinner party or gathering of friends on an evening is enhanced by the glow of candles. The simple gesture of having lit candles on the table or set out about the house makes every occasion a special one. The best candles ever!
The best candles are the soy candles! I love them! They come in so many scents you can burn different scents for different times of the year! Soy candles don’t loss there scents as you burn them and they put off less soot so you don’t get black marks on the ceilings or walls! They have came in handy for me many times. During the summer I like to burn candles just to get in the spring/summer mood. I will burn a watermelon or honeydew scented candle. For Fall and winter I like to burn a mulled cider or coffee scent for a cozier feeling. To help me get in a holiday mood I will burn a peppermint for Christmas or an eggnog. In the bath room I like to burn sandalwood for a cleaner feeling. Last year for my wedding I used warm vanilla sugar soy pillar for each of my tables at the reception. I received tons of complements! I also used tea light sized soy candles for my gifts for each person! Since the wedding we have had many candle light dinners! We have even had candle light picnic dinners!
